In response to marketplace demands for more value-added and "complex" confections, Cemoi relies on its expertise and experience to deliver innovative products to customers and consumers. Certain historians credit the Catalonians with wresting away the secrets of chocolate making from the Spaniards who - upon discovering this "food of the gods" in the New World — closely guarded the process and product. According to some, a group of cunning and clever Catalonians pilfered several sacks of cocoa beans from the King of Spain during the 16th century.
