Where's the Money? Downbeat views on the future financing of freighter aircraft were expressed in London earlier this month. Three experts in the field told the Freighters World Conference that as the credit crunch continues, the fundamental rationale of freighter aircraft is being questioned by bankers and others who were only too willing to support the business until recently. "We got spoiled by the over-supply of cheap money, pushed by bonus-driven bankers," admitted David Masson, CEO of Avion Aircraft Trading. "For freighters, it's the More Perfect Storm," said John Nozell, formerly with AWAS and now managing director for investment banking for The Seabury Group.
