Speaking at The International Air Cargo Association's Executive Summit in late May, LUFTHANSA CARGO Board Member Karl-Heinze Kopfle criticized the tangled knot of security regulations imposed by regulatory authorities around the world, saying these constituted an impediment to supply chain security. He pointed out that although it has been nine years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, there was no standardized security regime. Instead, countries were drafting their own rules, often incompatible with those of other countries, and often difficult "to translate into practice."
