On Thursday 3 September 2009, the electricity market regulators in Central Western Europe introduced a harmonized set of rules for the auctioning of crossbor-der transmission capacity on the borders between Luxembourg, Belgium, Germany, France and the Netherlands. The move will boost the efficiency of trading on the international electricity market, thus enhancing the Operation of the market mechanism. This development is a key step towards a Single, integrated electricity market in Central Western Europe.
