The 53rd Dornbirn Man-Made Fibers Congress, September 10-12, 2014 in Dornbirn/ Austria, is setting new accents in a globalized world where the communication network is accelerating and intensifying enormously any changes and cycles. These challenges in the field of finance and economy are becoming the decisive factors for success of the European man-made fiber industry. They influence the rhythm of innovation (time to market), the efficiency (resources, consumption of raw materials, energy, sustainability, recycling etc.) and the competitiveness (price per unit, USPs). This will lead to new systems of interdisciplinary cooperation. Life cycle analyses of the whole processing chain will gain momentum.
