The elastane/spandex yarn producer RadiciSpandex Corp., Gastonia, NC, a U.S. subsidiary of RadiciGroup, Bergamo/Italy, is engaged in production and sale of RadElast spandex yarn. It is developing the world's first eco-friendly elastane yarn using a 100% renewably sourced material (biopolymer). This innovative product line will be the world's first spandex yarn consisting of 80% biomaterial made from a 100% renewable source (corn), as opposed to propylene.
