In [1], we presented a twin-screw pump for handling a multiphase fluid. The new multiphase pump (Fig. 1) with a high delivery (320 m~3/h) is intended for pumping gas-liquid mixtures. The rugged pump housing and the rugged one-piece rotor-screws (Fig. 2) allowed the pressure at the pump intake to be raised to 25-10~5 Pa. The differential pressure p of the pump (p_(out) - p_(in), difference of the outlet and intake pressures) is 25 -10~5 Pa during operation with oil. We note that commercial twin-screw pums, manufactured in accordance with GOST 20572-88, have a maximum differential pressure of 16-10~5 Pa for oil and 6.3-10 Pa for water. The pump is distinguished by high efficiency. In many ways this is determined by the screw profile PE + EV + CE (PE is a prolate epicycloid, EV is an evolvent, and CE is a curtate epicycloid), which is made in accordance with Inventor's Certificate 1772470 USSR, IPC F 16 H 1/06, F 04 C 2/16) or a modernized profile "a". The clearances of the working members of the pump (screws and yoke) are shown in Fig. 3, where S_1 = 0.2 mm is the clearance on a side between the lateral profiles of the screws; S_2 = 0.1-0.2 mm is the clearance between the top of the tooth of one screw and the bottom of the tooth space of the second screw; S_0 = 0.18-0.19 mm is the clearance on a side between the screws and the housing; and L = 275 mm is the drum length.
