Chengdu Aircraft Company (CAC) is a Chinese multinational, state-owned enterprise that manufactures aircraft components (for clients such as Boeing and Airbus) and military aircraft (mainly fighter jets). CAC has developed a new stealth fighter aircraft - the J-20 Black Eagle - for the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force. Its' first known test flight took place in January 2011. China's military is reportedly negotiating with Russia over orders for 117S jet engines, for use in the J-20. The US believes that the J-20 will be ready for operations by 2018, and that it is more of a long-range attack aircraft rather than a fighter jet.
