Modern fluid machinery is developing towards higher efficiency, and the aviation engine, industrial gas turbine, steam turbine, etc. are also increasing the working capability. As a result, it will create higher demands for the design of throughflow part. Transonic flow fields are, in general, very complex because of secondary flow, boundary layer transition, stages interaction, as well as the occurrence, in many cases of flow separation, recirculation, and reattachment. Modern cascade flow often appears under transonic condition including subsonic flow in part of cascade and supersonic flow in other parts. Therefore, a current major problem in flow focuses upon two cases: the viscous flow and the interior transonic flow.
