Over the years, serial connections have served to connect computers to numerous types of equipment. RS-232 serial connections enable short-range, point-to-point communication. But sometimes these two features might be a big limitation. Fortunately, if you use the right set of tools, you can "teleport" serial communications via the Internet so applications can operate as though there is just an ordinary serial connection. In this article, I'll explain how you can do this in your next project.
