China Printed Circuit Association's President opens up about China's success—and anxiety—on what 2005 holds as his country becomes one of the world's leading PCB manufacturers. What a year for China's electronics industry! The electronic information industry has become one of China's primary industries, and the importance of printed circuits is gaining more and more recognition. In 2003, there were two breakthroughs. First, China's PCB production value exceeded $6 billion, making it the second largest manufacturing country after Japan. Second, the import and export total also exceeded $6 billion. However, China's import of PCBs is $1.25 billion greater than export! The main reason is the importation of high tech HDI and FPC boards. The domestic market size should be bigger than $7.7 billion.
