Aerion AS2. At the 2004 National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) convention, Reno, Nevada-based Aerion Corp unveiled a design for an eight- to 12-passenger, Mach 1.6, twin-engine supersonic business jet (SSBJ). However, the company's focus later shifted and, in May 2014, it unveiled a design for a larger, three-engine SSBJ called the AS2. The 12-passenger AS2 has a maximum operating speed of Mach 1.4. IFR range at Mach 1.4 is 4,750 nautical miles. Maximum takeoff weight is 54,884 kilograms (121,0001b). First flight of the AS2 is planned for 2023, with certification in 2025.
