With Airbus and Boeing expected to account for more than 95 percent of production over the next 10 years, the airliner market will certainly remain a duopoly during this timeframe. This is despite the appearance of new competitors for market share, such as Bombardier, COMAC, and Russia's UAC. At least for the foreseeable future, the built-in advantages enjoyed by Airbus and Boeing will simply be too great for any competitor to make more than a very small dent in the sales of the two giant OEMs.
