Fantastic news about the charter! All of us can be so proud of what we have achieved collectively by enthusiasm, competence and intellectual initiative over 40 years. It is inspiring that the Privy Council recognises what we have achieved and puts us alongside all the other bodies which, over the centuries, have demonstrated that they are a real profession worthy of royal recognition. Dr Martin Barnes FlnstCES, past president ICESrnThe following letter was written in response to an editorial comment in Geomaties World magazine by Stephen Booth, organiser of the Geo9 surveying exhibition. A version of this letter is also published in the May/June issue of that magazine.
