Site work began recently on the shore of Doha (Ad Dawhah), in Qatar, on a sweeping new shopping mall, the design of which was inspired by the delicate, natural shapes formed by the interplay of sand and water. The 72,000 m~2 structure was designed by the international firm HOK. The London office of HOK took the lead and was aided by the Dubayy (Dubai) team. The structure will be part of a new, 37 km~2 mixed-use waterfront development known as Lusail.
