The pinnacle bank arena is a new, multiuse facility located in Lincoln, Ne-braska, that will be the home of the University of Nebraska men's and women's basketball teams, as well as an entertainment venue. This season, for the first time ever, the men's basketball games arc sold out, and this happened before the arena had been completed. The arena replaces the aging and smaller Bob Devaney Sports Center, which has been refurbished to host the University of Nebraska women's volleyball program. The arena, which hosted its first event on August 16, is situated in Lincoln's West Haymarket area, a former warehouse district that is a short walk from the University of Nebraska campus. It has already begun to foster mixed-use development in the district, as hotels, retail outlets, and restaurants are opening in anticipation of the increased foot traffic the arena will bring. Memorial Stadium and Hay-market Park, which host respectively the university's football and baseball teams, are nearby, creating a large entertainment zone. '
