摘要

A building 30 m tall made to resemble gigantic LEGO bricks is being planned for the town of Billund, Denmark, home to the LEGO Group. The LEGO House project will feature a "three-dimensional village of interlocking and overlapping buildings and spaces," according to a description on the website of the Danish architecture firm Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), of Copenhagen (K0benhavn). BIG is designing this LEGO museum in collaboration with Ralph Appelbaum Associates, of New York City, and COWI, based in Kongens Lyngby, Denmark. De- scribed by LEGO as an "experience center," the LEGO House is designed to inspire an imaginative, educational, and inspirational experience both outside and inside, according to a LEGO press announcement. The venue will feature 7,600 m~2 of exhibition areas, a cafe, a LEGO store, and a large, covered public square measuring 1,900 m~2. Designed for both local residents and tourists, the LEGO House is expected to attract 250,000 visitors a year. Construction is scheduled to start in 2014; the LEGO House will probably open in 2016.
