Like Many Engineering firms, Thornton Tomasetti has used building information modeling (BIM) for many years to improve its projects. But when it came to designing the Barclays Center, in the New York City borough of Brooklyn, the international engineering firm decided to take the technology perhaps further than it ever had before and use the three-dimensional (3-D) digital model as its primary work product.
