Salvador dali belongs to that elite group of artists whose work is so influential as to be considered priceless. A new building for the Salvador Dali Museum, in St. Peters- able artwork is exhibited on the third floor. The second floor accommodates a library, offices, and mechanical space, while the first floor features a reception area, a community room, a theater, a cafe, and a gift shop. burg, Florida, is designed to evoke the surreal beauty of his work while protecting it from the all-too-real threat of severe weather. From the b eginning, the purpose of the 68,000 sq ft building guided its form, says Yann Weymouth, the design principal for the Florida practice of HOK, which was the architect for the project. An analysis of the museum's requirements suggested a three-story structure, each story being roughly equal in area.
