Usace sacramento-Chief, Hydrology and Hydraulics Branch. Position directs the work of the branch, which provides a full range of professional hydrologic, hydraulic engineering, and water control management services for the district. Branch functions support major water resource projects located in an 8-state area of the Southwest. In addition to directing all water resources engineering efforts, position also oversees regulation of the district's dams and reservoirs to ensure that they fulfill their water control-related purposes; solves major engineering problems with limited guidance and exercises originality in anticipating such problems and in recognizing future program needs; and consults with supervisor and with lateral branch chiefs to ascertain what impact program developments or projected activities may have on branch work.
