The Market Street Bridge-an early-20th-century bascule bridge that crosses the Tennessee River at Chattanooga-has reopened following a two-year closure for renovation.rnThe 2,000 ft (610 m) bridge was originally constructed between 1914 and 1917 and is eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places. The main span-a double-leaf steel truss bascule span-is flanked on each side by three symmetrical concrete arch spans.
