Without doubt one of the most important events in the global waste and recycling calendar this year is IFAT in Munich, taking place from 14-18 May. Chances are, if you haven't already booked, you'll be hard-pressed to find accommodation anywhere near the Munich Messe. So what will you be missing?Top of the list in terms of technical interest - if not national pride - should be the debut appearance of a brand new, zero-emissions, Dennis Eagle RCV chassis. This will make an interesting comparison to the PVI chassis, which is Dennis Eagle-based and already in operation with a number of European operators.Other UK-based manufacturers, such as Stock Sweepers, Egbert Taylor, VWS and JCB will also be at the event, but also of interest to vacuum sweeper operators is what is claimed to be one of the largest truck-mounted vacuum sweepers ever built. It's a German-built Faun Viajet unit, mounted on a four-axle Mercedes Benz chassis. Yes, an eight-wheeler!
