Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council opted for the contract hire option for the supply of its latest fleet of RCVs in a package managed by SFS (Specialist Fleet Services), after what the Council describes as"a comprehensive cost comparison and tender procurement process".The new contract hire deal runs for seven years and includes the supply of 20 new vehicles including RCVs, vacuum sweepers, hooklifts and LCVs. The new units will be maintained by SFS in the Council depot in Hinckley. The arrival of the new fleet coincides with a change to the way in which recyclables are collected in the Borough - the collection of dry recyclabes was contracted out to a third party, but from this month, the service will be returned to in-house operation. It says SFS is helping by making interim arrangements involving the supply of additional recycling units from its hire division -CTS Hire - which will be to the same specification as the new vehicles in the fleet when they are finally delivered in September.
