Plastic bottles litter our landscape. As a nation we consume around 36m plastic bottles each day, of which 16m are discarded daily; destined for landfill or energy from waste facilities. Small wonder then that the nation has been gripped by the notion of introducing a plastic bottle deposit return scheme (DRS). After initially rejecting the idea, Coca-Cola has said it will back trialling of DRS for plastic bottles.
