A new report claims that the UK is likely to miss key environmental targets on air quality, emissions, biodiversity and waste. The research - by Greenpeace's investigative journalists, Unearthed, in collaboration with the Financial Times - was compiled from information in the public domain. It shows that the UK's household recycling rates have been stuck at around 45 per cent for the past four years, after increasing dramatically in the early 2000s. The country is now likely to miss the EU requirement to recycle or reuse 50 per cent of household waste by 2020, the report says.
