What does your working week entail? My role involves the oversight of all enforcement activity across the area to understand the resource capability and ensure we are targeting our resources in line with national enforcement priorities. I support the delivery of enforcement and governance through timely completion of investigations into environmental offences. My normal week involves working with our officers to ensure any enforcement work being carried out is proportional, consistent and transparent, and all outcomes are in line with current legislation and our internal policies and procedures. I assist officers in completing investigation plans to ensure investigations are resourced and actioned appropriately. I also spend a lot of time training and mentoring officers, giving advice on our tools and appropriate sanctions, as well as the use of our enforcement recording systems.
