EU MEMBER states and the European Parliament look to be on a collision course on key elements of the European Commission's circular economy proposals. Compromise texts on changes to the Waste Framework, Landfill, and Packaging Directives prepared by the Slovakian Presidency of the EU for discussion by member states' experts in mid-November reveal sharp differences from the amendments to the Commission proposals due to be considered by the Environment Committee of the European Parliament on 24 January 2017.
