Assetgen partners has announced that construction will begin on a new £60m energy plant in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire, that will see the 10MWe gasification plant become the largest in the UK to convert commercial and industrial waste into energy. Using advanced technology, the merchant-waste gasification facility is expected to divert over 90 000 tonnes of waste from landfill, sourced through fuel providers Biffa and Powerday. It will also power 7 000 homes each year. The plant will be constructed and operated by Bouygues Energies and Services.
