Often seen as the less glamorous side of the industry, hazardous waste is generally consigned to the "must deal with" pile. Here we look at the top five opportunities for the hazardous waste sector over the coming decade... It has been well reported that the amount of waste being sent to landfill in the UK is declining. However, there is much work that needs to be done if we are to meet the ambitious EU target of recycling 50 percent of household waste by 2020 -not to mention ongoing work around business and industrial waste. The eventual target of zero waste to landfill seems a long way off for the UK but, compared to other, bigger European markets, we are faring quite well and herein lies the opportunity for companies such as ours in coming years.
