摘要

Becycling collections from purpose built flats, as we are all too aware, come with many different challenges. This is often as a result of poorly designed waste management systems, with these flats regularly containing small bin stores, without enough consideration given to their location that were never designed for modern recycling systems. This can result in poor access to recycling collection bins for residents, or a lack of recycling facilities, and therefore leads to low participation in local authority recycling schemes. The results of this is that councils trying to increase the recycling rates from flats - particularly when introducing separate food waste collections - struggle to fit more containers on site and often have to increase the frequency of collections, at an extra cost.
