Not content with designing and building larger, heavier incarnations of the famous backhoe loader - like the 4CX-JCB has also tried shrinking the concept down to "compact" levels with the 2CX. But, as with designs of private car, each new successive model of the machine that started it all - the tractor-sized 3CX - has also got successively more complex, and bigger. Until now, that is... Now JCB has taken on-board operators'comments and produced a new 3CX that is what it claims as "35 percent smaller while retaining the power and speed of it's bigger brother." The reason for the change? It seems that building sites and other areas where backhoe loaders are in operation, which clearly must include demolition sites and waste recycling facilities, have become increasingly crowded and congested.
