摘要

Wheelie bins and recycling bags are now a common sight on most pavements; almost all local authorities tell residents to leave their bins and sacks on the pavement to be collected. With scheduled collections for different types of recycling and waste on various days across the local area, the pavements can end up being obstructed several days a week. We understand that waste management teams have a huge amount of work to do in a short amount of time, and sometimes thoughts of what happens to the bin after it's been emptied can be pushed to the back of their mind. We also understand that, if there is no porch, driveway or front garden, there is often no other option than to leave the bin on the pavement. But this does not change the fact that many people with sight loss dread bin day.
