Based in the Midlands, Remada is a joint venture between Scientus Consulting and GJP Contract Services. The company operates a soil treatment facility near Birmingham's NEC, offering a sustainable cost-effective alternative to the landfilling of contaminated soil. Remada specialises in soil and groundwater remediation projects such as a current project involving site clearance and soil remediation for a residential developer in Leeds. The site was previously used by a coach and truck operator and featured both above and below ground fuel oil tanks as well as the foundations of previously demolished buildings. As a result of this previous use, the underlying sandstone showed widespread contamination in addition to the made ground being impacted with benzo pyrene.
