Good news for the Scottish economy... and the entire UK manufacturing sector as a whole. As you can read elsewhere in this issue, the Heil Farid "merger"could have easily resulted in the loss of jobs in the UK. True, it did in Arundle, but this is more than off-set by a boost in work up at the former Heil plant in Dunfermline. After years of neglect, the Dunfermline plant is due for a comprehensive refit with new machine tools and assembly facilities. When that's done, Farid compaction bodies and hoppers will be assembled along the latest "slot and tab" principles and, where possible, pre-painted before assembly.
