摘要

AEB waste to energy company is wholly owned by the City of Amsterdam. Its main purpose is to handle the vast majority of municipal waste from the city of Amsterdam and 19 municipalities in its surroundings. The plant was expanded in 2007 to allow an annual throughput of over 1.4m tonnes of waste. The energy from waste (EfW] facility in Amsterdam is the largest, most durable and energy efficient EfW in the world, and includes a state-of-the-art energy power station with an electricity production efficiency of more than 30 percent, which is higher than the average of other European EfW facilities. It is one of the overseas facilities mat is able to treat UK waste and currently treats 300 000 tonnes annually (refuse derived fuel from both commercial and household waste). It is situated in the port of Amsterdam with its own facilities, allowing easy access by ship from the UK.
