Back in April 2008 WRAP launched its new, three-year business plan. Designed to benefit both the "environment and the economy" the plan was designed to divert 8m tonnes of waste from landfill, prevent 5m tonnes of C02 emissions and generate more than ￡lbn in economic benefits to businesses, local authorities and consumers... so how did it fare? Well, according to the report, fantastically well! All targets were exceeded, despite the fact that WRAP admits that it didn't "achieve everything [it] originally set out to do". The report explained: "The downturn in the economy and cuts to public services proved a major challenge, impacting on growth in sales achieved by the businesses we supported".
