Anew Publicly Available Specification is to be issued shortly by the British Standards Institution (BSI), following an initiative started back in 2008 by the WEEE Advisory Board (WAB). Its aim is to increase the re-use of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in accordance with the objectives of the WEEE Directive, and assure consumers that used EEE (UEEE) has been tested as safe to use and prepared for re-use, functional, free of protected data and backed by a warranty.
