QA client was recently given a non-conformance during an audit for the fact that the Waste Transfer Notes (WTN) they held did not have the site for the disposal of their waste on them. I was of the understanding that, although under the Duty of Care code of practice the disposal point of the waste should be known and checked by the producer, it is not a legal requirement that it is included in the WTN. Many of the major contractors that issue WTNs do not include this information, especially on the yearly tickets. Are we all operating illegally?
