ONE OF the UK's largest self-drive rental companies has recently put a dozen new Bell wheeled loaders on the hire fleet. The deal is a significant step for Bell in terms of gaining greater industry and user group recognition of its wheeled loader line-up following its introduction two years ago: two years of considerable distress and recession in the core user group of self drive machines, the construction industry. Following a £2m investment by Hydrex - Gorrels parent company - the inclusion of the Bell units into the hitherto predominantly Volvo-based self-drive fleet is perhaps worthy of note. Correl currently runs something like 180 Volvo machines.
