Barry dennis was inaugurated as CIWM President for 2010/11 at the end of October and, as you will see on pages 14 and 15, has already performed his first duties at the Professional Awards. However, duty number one was to make his first speech as President, which he did at Lord's Cricket Ground - a venue very special to Barry as explained in his interview in the November issue of CIWM. In his presidential address, Barry focused on the contribution the modern waste management industry can make to the UK's green economy in terms of reducing carbon, putting valuable raw material back into the economy, generating significant amounts of renewable energy and creating much needed jobs.
