England's Waste Strategy 2007 (WS07) gave prominence to the promotion of anaerobic digestion (AD) for the treatment of biomass and wood as priority wastes for renewable energy sources. Two years later there is considerable prominence for AD, as exemplified by the report from the AD Task Croup, chaired by Steve Lee, chief executive of the CIWM. But where are we with regard to wood waste as a renewable energy source?
