There has been plenty of talk about how green jobs will help pull the country out of recession - but how likely is this and what role will our sector play? Strategies to tackle climate change and divert waste from landfill have set stringent targets and in order to achieve these there is a requirement to develop the infrastructure across the environmental sector and beyond. But what sort and how many jobs are we talking about here and what will be the nature of them? While there are some hard figures, the spread of jobs to develop the recycling infrastructure means accurate figures are difficult to come by.
