The city of Kolkata (better known to many as Calcutta) with its teeming streets and traffic going in every direction at once, flimsy shanties and all-pervading air pollution was perhaps the natural setting for the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) to host its Environment Partnership Summit. Yet again I was attending an international conference at the request of Her Majesty's Government, wearing both my ISWA vice president and the CIWM immediate past president hats!
