Q Having read the Environment Agency's Hazardous Waste August 2009 Update, the document states that there is a new European Regulation (1272/2005) on the classification, labelling and packaging of chemicals. What's the significance of this legislation? A Those who have read the Hazardous Waste August 2009 Update, published by the Environment Agency, will hopefully have found Regulation No 1272/2008 on the classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (known as the CLP Regulations) and will have realised that the Environment Agency's reference to EC Regulation No. 1272/2005 (which is the reference to the regulation concerning certain restrictive measures in respect of Zimbabwe!) is in error.
