After eight years working under the banner of ENCAMS, the charity has returned to its roots and "Keep Britain Tidy" is now officially back. While the nation has always kept the Keep Britain Tidy association, since 2001 local authorities, government agencies and businesses knew the company as ENCAMS. "Keep Britain Tidy is such a strong brand name. It made absolute sense for us to drop the unpopular ENCAMS label and revert to the name that everyone knows and loves," said spokesman Dickie Felton. "ENCAMS was not a successful brand for us. It just prompted confusion. Keep Britain Tidy does exactly what it says on the tin. People are aware of the Keep Britain Tidy name, our history and what we stand for."
