On 31 July Defra, the Welsh Assembly Government and the Environment Agency launched a 12-week consultation on proposed revisions to the exemptions from the need for an environmental permit.A number of workshops to discuss the proposals will be held in September. Anyone currently operating under an exemption or an Environment Agency low-risk position will be affected by these proposals, which are scheduled to come into force in October 2009.
