Anew Plasma Gasification process (Gasplasma), an advanced thermal conversion technology, was formally launched in November last year at the Institute of Civil Engineers, by Advanced Plasma Power. It is able to convert a pre-treated waste feedstock, refuse-derived fuel(RDF) or solid recovered fuel (SRF), for example, into a clean hydrogen rich syngas and an inert material that is capable of being used as a recovered aggregate. Its launch followed a number of successful trials that were held at its demonstration plant. The power derived from this process is eligible for Renewables Obligation Certificates.
