During the last 18 months, the Institution has reviewed its constitution and system of governance. The Institution is now a company incorporated by Royal Charter, and is a charity with the elected General Councillors as its trustees. There were two main reasons for the review so soon after being granted our Royal Charter: 1. To comply with some recommendations made to the Privy Council during the application process 2. To modernise and streamline our systems of governance.
