A significant increase in value terms is expected for the UK contaminated land assessment and remediation market. Indeed it is expected to increase by 30% in value terms between 2001 and 2005, according to a recent report published by market analysts MSI Marketing Research for Industry. The MSL report, entitled 'MSI Data Report: The UK Contaminated Land Treatment To 2005', suggests that as local authorities complete their contaminated land surveys and the new legislation takes full effect, a greater perception of contaminated land treatment will develop in the UK. In turn, this will encourage greater development of contaminated land ensuring that the government meets its target for the sustainable use of brownfield sites.
