The EU's Buildings as Material Banks (BAMB) three-and-a-half-year project looked at how construction materials can be taken apart and recovered from buildings during deconstruction and renovation. Speaking at the Futurebuild 2019 conference last month, Gilli Hobbs, director, building performance group, at BAMB project partner BRE, said that construction was responsible for 60 per cent of all waste.
